Getting Started

Start with credentials, setup steps, and the key guides for this pair.

  1. 1

Open Merchant Portal or contact Klarna support

Retrieve the API credentials from the Klarna Merchant Portal. If they are not available there, contact your regional Klarna merchant support team.

  2. 2

    Locate the API key

Find the API key that matches the environment you want to use. Klarna API keys follow the format `klarna_<live|test>_api_...`.

  3. 3

    Save the credential details securely

If Merchant Portal also shows a UUID username together with the API key, save that as well in case a legacy username/password client needs it.

  4. 4

    Confirm the environment

Use test credentials for playground or testing, and switch to live credentials when you are ready for production.

  5. 5

    Paste the credentials into Junipeer

Enter the Klarna API key in Junipeer. Only add the UUID username if Junipeer or the specific integration setup explicitly asks for it.

  1. 1

Confirm the exact product and environment

Verify the product variant, environment, tenant, and any middleware involved before configuring credentials.

  2. 2

Let Junipeer confirm the auth pattern

Use the agreed Junipeer implementation scope to confirm whether the setup uses API keys, service users, OAuth, tokens, or another method.

  3. 3

Create or receive the technical credentials

Have the system owner, vendor, or implementation partner create the required integration access according to the agreed setup.

  4. 4

    Add the credentials in Junipeer

Enter the issued credentials, host details, and any tenant-specific identifiers in the Junipeer admin when requested.

  5. 5

Verify in a non-production environment first

Run a controlled connection test before enabling a live data flow.
